Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Gentlehands Collective?
Gentlehands Collective is a public benefit organization founded to turn good intentions into real community impact. We organize 100% net proceeds donated fundraisers and expand K–12 access to the creative arts through Gentlehands Academy.
How do the fundraisers work?
We partner with local businesses, schools, and community leaders to organize events - currently Paint & Resin workshops hosted by Wine & Design studios. Every dollar of net proceeds goes directly back to the schools or causes we serve.
Who can participate in a fundraiser?
Anyone! Parents, students, staff, businesses, nonprofits, and community members are welcome to attend, sponsor, or promote our events.
How are funds distributed?
Funds are collected through the Gentlehands Collective or our event partners and disbursed directly to schools or designated nonprofits. We operate with full transparency - schools and organizations always see the numbers.
What is Gentlehands Academy?
Launching in Fall 2025, Gentlehands Academy brings professional art educators into schools and community spaces in the Piedmont Triad for afterschool programs. Tracks are designed by age (Sprout, Spark, Explore, Emerge) to help students build skills, confidence, and self-expression.
What types of programs will Academy offer?
We start with visual arts (painting, drawing, crafts) and expand into music, dance, and theatre by 2026. Each program blends creativity with social and emotional growth.
